IIAB Summit 2025 – Gallery

The Institute of Internal Auditors Bangladesh (IIAB) successfully hosted the IIAB Summit 2025 on 31 May 2025 at Grand Ballroom 3, The Westin, Gulshan-2, Dhaka with the theme: “Transform Internal Audit – Navigating the New Global Internal Audit Standards (GIAS).”

The summit brought together over 100 internal audit professionals, thought leaders, and industry experts to discuss the critical role of the updated GIAS in shaping the future of internal audit.

Dr. Sajjad Hossain Bhuiyan, Chairman of the Financial Reporting Council (FRC), delivered an inspiring keynote, emphasizing that companies must align with the GIAS framework to ensure good governance and long-term sustainability.

Distinguished speakers, including Prof. Maksudur Rahman Sarker, Chairman of the Department of Accounting, University of Dhaka; Prof. Shahadat Hossain, PhD, North South University; and Mr. Raihan Shamsi, FCA, Past President of IIAB, echoed Dr. Bhuiyan’s message, reinforcing the importance of adopting global best practices in governance.

The summit featured two engaging panel discussions, moderated by M Nurul Alam FCS , President of IIAB, and Nausheen Ahmed, CIA, CISA, CRMA, CC (ISC2), AISA, Secretary General of IIAB, with participation from CEOs, CAEs, and governance leaders from listed companies and multinational corporations.

A comprehensive keynote paper on the Global Internal Audit Standards (GIAS) was presented by IIAB Board Members Adil Iftekhar, CIA and Tahsinur Rahim CIA CRMA. The panel of discussants included IIAB Vice Presidents Nanda Dulal Saha FCA(ICAB), ACA(ICAEW) and Amitava Saha CGIA alongside IIAB Board Member Mohammed Tabarok Hossain, FCCA, CIA, CRMA and other respected members of the internal audit community.

The IIAB Summit 2025 was a flagship event of Internal Audit Awareness Month (May), underscoring IIAB’s commitment to advancing internal audit practices and building a resilient, governance-driven future for Bangladesh’s corporate sector.
